Used Hyundai Tucson or Honda CR-V: which one is the best choice?

News

Published by leadstream on September 10, 2019

In the compact SUV segment, the most popular in the country, the competition is fierce among manufacturers. Among the best offerings in the category are the Honda CR-V, as well as the Hyundai Tucson.

The CR-V was last revised in 2017, while the Korean representative in 2016. These are two good products, let's not hide it. However, for those who might believe that the battle is not tight between the two and that Honda's advantage is evident, wait a moment; the Tucson carries elements that might surprise you.

So much so that when choosing a used model, your choice could very well be the one judged unfairly inferior compared to the other. Let's see why.

Used Hyundai Tucson or Honda CR-V: a matter of style

If you have chosen to live in the Eastern Townships, it is because you appreciate beauty. Consequently, the choice of a vehicle that presents a nice appearance must matter to you a little bit. In this regard, the battle is not even close between the Tucson and the CR-V.

The latter advances a style that allows it... to blend into the crowd. Needless to say, this is not the case for the Tucson. In fact, the 2016 redesign allowed us to witness the birth of the most beautiful SUV in its category, nothing less. The front end is full of character, the profile is magnificent, and at the rear, the treatment given to the lights gives a premium look to the model.

And if we were to ask you; would you prefer to drive a beautiful vehicle or one that is searching for a personality?

2 engine choices for the used Hyundai Tucson

As a buyer, it's nice to have choices when it comes to a vehicle. With the CR-V, you're presented with a done deal. Under the hood, you only get one engine.

With the Tucson, you have two options; a 2-liter 4-cylinder good for 161 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque; a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder capable of 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque.

And the big surprise is that these engines have proven to be more reliable than the one offered by Honda. Yes, the Japanese manufacturer has had issues with its engine. At Hyundai, reliability has become automatic.

What about the driving experience?

Finally, if given the choice between a vehicle that's pleasant to drive and one that is capable of inducing sleep, which one would you instinctively lean towards?

Asking the question is answering it. While Honda's CR-V is a model of comfort and tranquility, the pleasure felt behind the wheel is... nonexistent.

With the Tucson, it's quite the opposite as you enjoy an engaging driving experience. Plus, the level of comfort is equally excellent.

And add to that, inside, the interior of the Korean representative is much more user-friendly, especially when it comes to the multimedia system.

Frankly, if you take the time to compare, we know which vehicle you'll lean towards.

Once your choice is made, we await you at one of our branches.
